Why Leads BD Exists
In 2022, I retired from Veros, the company I founded and grew over 10 years into a nationally respected property and projects consultancy with a team of 38. My retirement plan was simple: morning coffees, gym sessions, a few odd jobs, and evening swims.
That lasted three months.
It turns out switching off the start‑up part of my brain isn’t possible. Veros was my third successful venture, and the itch to build something new came back quickly.
So, I paused and asked myself: What has actually driven my success?
Three things stood out:
Surrounding myself with good people
Enabling growth through effective business development
Building great culture

Business development was the clear opportunity. I realised the practical, real‑world approach that had shaped my career could help others grow too, if I packaged it the right way.
Over summer, I wrote 30 pages of business development actions, insights, and systems. From that, Leads BD was born.
We built a programme that lifts BD activity, keeps people focused, and measures what matters. We even developed bespoke software to track performance and provide clear, accurate reporting.
We gained our first clients the same way I always have, by telling our story and delivering on what we promised.
Today, Leads BD is thriving. The best part? The people in the programme are exactly the kind of people I’ve always believed in: good humans with strong culture and growth mindsets. In other words, the perfect match for the three principles that have guided my entire journey.
